“Laughter is contagious... Smile and the world will smile with you!”

Rob is the brain child behind Frightnight Comedy Theatre Restaurant and began his career as an industrial design engineer, where he won many awards for his extraordinary skills and abilities in this field. Today, products that Rob engineered are still being used around Australia.

At the tender age of 21, Rob created and promoted a brand new and unique style of bus company; this original endeavour looked after all entertainment in Sydney by selling complete packages, thus making quality entertainment accessible and convenient to audiences across NSW.

Rob commenced his life in the entertainment world in 1992, where he started out with the promotional team at Kaos Comedy Restaurant. Rob is proud to acknowledge a long time friendship with mentor Mr Alan Peck, who is still a strong presence in Rob's life. He considers himself lucky to have had the privilege of being guided by such a successful individual.

Later on in 1992, Rob was made a finalist of the Young Australian of the Year Award for Career Achievement, due to his outstanding skills in engineering. At the same time he was running one of the fastest-growing bus companies in Sydney, while also having achieved high success in ballroom dancing and featuring in many ballet concerts. As Rob maintains, “having the energy and passion in business is the recipe for success."

Between 1992 and 1998 Rob became the biggest promoter of entertainment in Sydney. During this time he discovered that he was a natural entertainer and crowd warmer, and he took part in many different acting roles within the corporate world. In July 1999 Rob had the opportunity to buy the Liverpool theatre restaurant “Bawdy Bills”, which he operated for a short period of time whilst simultaneously creating the now ever-popular Frightnight Comedy Theatre Restaurant. This venue celebrated its grand opening on the first of October 1999. Because of Frightnight’s rapid success, Rob soon opened a second venue, located on the popular holiday destination of the Central Coast, in New South Wales.

In 2003 Rob produced and directed a new concept in theatre restaurant called Utopia – Not Just a Theatre Restaurant on Queensland’s Gold Coast, in Surfers Paradise. This was a cross between a theme park and a theatre restaurant. Utopia had a three story stage, with cathedral-style seating and five different “dimensions” - themed areas that the audience travelled through during the evening.

This year Rob will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of his Frightnight Comedy Theatre Restaurant, and he is currently working on a brand new concept for another theatre, to be called Looney’s. The ever-energetic Rob will also be launching a brand new bus company called Kaos Comedy Coaches – these will introduce entertainment of all styles to Sydney bus tours (to take the boredom out of what some might call Sydney’s dull and boring tourism industry).

It’s all about entertainment; Rob’s current personal goal is to eventually produce and direct a live theatre production. Star City, the Opera House, Crown Casino, Jupiter’s... you get the idea, <insert sly smile here>. He would also like to be a lead actor on a sketch comedy show for television.
Rob is one of the most enthusiastic and passionate entertainers in the industry; his whole reason for creating and producing good entertainment and quality shows is to give the general public an escape from their everyday life. If the crowd walks away with a smile, then Rob’s job is done!
